Attending the Canadian Grand Prix
I attended the Canadian Grand Prix in Montreal!
If you are a Formula 1 fan, the Canadian GP is one of the cheapest races you can attend in North America. I write about my experience and implementation here, but check out my the trip from my eyes below!
Costs:
Flights: $400
Hotel: $250 ($1000 split among friends)
Tickets: $350 (do NOT buy GA tickets)
Merch: $150
Other Activities:
Les Francos de Montréal is the real kick-off to summer in the city. Hip-hop, rock, pop, folk, electro, slam, the Francos showcase francophone music in all its variety. There are over 200 indoor and outdoor shows, including nearly 150 FREE!
Walk around the entirety of Mount Royal, starting around Universite de Montreal and ending at the Tam Tams area
Tips:
Fly out on Monday Morning - the race ends around 5pm, and its extremely difficult to get to the airport until 8pm. There are very few late night flights back to the states from Montreal
Buy a seat cushion - if you are sitting on bleachers, this is a life saver
Get to the track early - there is always stuff going on, and the lines to get in, get food, and get merch will be massively shorter in the first few hours of the day.
Merch - merch is insanely expensive. Try to buy your stuff online well before the race!
Food - You can bring in your own food and water to save a bit of money.
